Welcome!

Hi y’all, I’m Lane! (He/They)

I’m a Queer classicist and PhD. Candidate in Classics at UT Austin.

My research focuses on the intersection of tragedy and Queer theory, including reception, criticism and translation studies. My recent research concerns Queer re-readings of Agathon’s fragments and their impact on Queer culture.

I am also a playwright and actor, and my artistic work focuses on queer experiences and affect through different prisms. My current project, the queer dionysia, is a trilogy of queered tragedies utilizing Greek myth and the works of Euripides. The first play in the trilogy, hippolytos, was presented by the Committee on Ancient and Modern Performance at the 2021 SCS/AIA Joint Conference.

I’m passionate about intersectionality in classical and contemporary art, and am a proud member of the Queer Shakespeare Project (see the Q. S. P. page of this website).

For any film or theatre bookings, please contact me directly via the Contact page of this website!
